Established to preserve the cultural, spiritual, and national knowledge of its people, the Ukrainian League of Philadelphia is a social club that helps promote cultural, educational, artistic, and physical health groups among its members. By sponsoring social gatherings and entertainment, we are able to blend Ukrainian culture and tradition with community involvement.
Our History
The Ukrainian League of Philadelphia was founded in 1917 with a mission to organize American citizens of Ukrainian descent and work to preserve Ukrainian culture and traditions. Our social club showcases Ukrainian artists, poets, and writers and offers the membership a forum and a safe haven that cultivates social consciousness among Ukrainians. Over the past 100 years, the Ukrainian League has continued these activities, as well as introduced Ukraine’s unique history and culture to the larger community. The Board of Directors are all volunteers and rely on member volunteers to support this mission.
